Accessible Bus Service and On-Site Attendant
Our program provides accessible bus and on-site attendant will continued this year for our Sunday ski dates. Registration forms include space to indicate if you require the accessible bus.
On the day of your lesson…
The accessible parking and entrance is at the far rear of the building; look for the snow school rear entrance.
Please arrive at Searchmont at least 30 minutes before your first scheduled lesson in order for our instructors to assess your skiing style with you. Check in at main part of the lodge with a No Limits volunteer. Look for the red No Limits jackets in the main lodge.
From here, an instructor will meet you to discuss your lesson, and answer any questions you may have. If you have any concerns or wish to share any information that may impact your lesson, please discuss it with your instructor prior to heading outside. You can rest assured that our instructors will keep your personal and medical information confidential.
If your school is coming to Searchmont…
Is your school is planning a ski trip this winter to Searchmont? If so, we will do our best to accommodate a student with a disability. Ask about the adaptive skiing program at Searchmont Resort. Please note: Each school is responsible for providing transportation and personal support for students. We will accommodate student’s needs on the hill, but the school is responsible for supervision while in the lodge. We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but we require two weeks advance notice in order to accommodate the request for a certified instructor and trained volunteers.
If you are an out of town visitor…
Visitors to Searchmont Resort can sign up for individual adaptive ski lessons by contacting Diane @ 705-759-0333. In all cases transportation must be arranged by the visitor.
