Welcome to the 2012 Season of Adaptive Skiing at Searchmont Resort!

Our adaptive skiing program begins Sunday January 15th, and runs until Sunday March 4th, 2012.

How to become a No Limits Club Member…

The cost of membership is $155 for 6 - 1 hour lessons.  This fee includes membership with the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers (CADS), equipment, a certified instructor, a trained volunteer (if required), and a half-day lift pass.  Bookings are on a first come, first served basis.

Please Note: Two separate cheques will be required to pay for your lessons.  One must be made out to the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing for $35 (mandatory membership which covers your liability insurance), and the other made out to No Limits Adaptive Ski Club for $120 for your 6 lessons.

How to register for a lesson…

On Saturday or Sunday only, call Searchmont Resort at 705-781-2340 x 2353 and speak with Isobelle.  If you call and get voicemail, please dial ’0′ which will bring you to customer service and ask for Isobelle.  When you call to book, you will be asked a series of questions to assist us in knowing how to accommodate your skiing style.

In order to be fair to every skier, you must book 3 appointments in each of the two time slots when booking your 6 lessons.  ie. 3 lessons starting at 10:30 AM, 3 lessons starting at 1 PM.

Some rules and restrictions apply; See below.

  • Lessons are 1 hour long, but bookings are 1.5 hours long to accommodate for set up of equipment
  • Lesson times are 10:30 AM, 1 PM
  • All bookings are subject to change due to availability of instructors and volunteers
  • If we need to cancel your booking due to low participation of volunteers you will be notified at least one day prior to your lesson
  • All bookings are subject to change due to conditions on hill
  • Additional single lessons $20/lesson
  • If we are not able to fulfill all 6 lessons we will refund lessons at $20/lesson
  • For safety reasons, we must adhere to weight restrictions as set by equipment manufacturer
  • Contact equipment manager for specific details

On the day of your lesson…

The accessible parking and entrance is at the far rear of the building; look for the snow school rear entrance.

Please arrive at Searchmont at least 30 minutes before your first scheduled lesson in order for us to process your forms.  Check in at the Snow School registration desk, where you can pay the required fees and complete your paperwork.

From here, an instructor will meet you to discuss your lesson, and answer any questions you might have.  If you have any concerns or any information that may impact your lesson that has not been covered by the forms, please discuss it with your instructor prior to heading outside.  You can rest assured that our instructors will keep your personal and medical information confidential.

It is helpful to have your paperwork filled out when you arrive at your lesson.

Please download, print and fill out the following forms to bring to your first lesson.

If your school is coming to Searchmont…

Is your school is planning a ski trip this winter to Searchmont?  If so, we will do our best to accommodate a student with a disability.  Ask about the adapted skiing program at Searchmont Resort.   Please note: Each school is responsible for providing transportation and personal support for students. We will accommodate student’s needs on the hill, but the school is responsible for supervision while in the lodge.  We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but we require as much advance notice as possible in order to accommodate the request for a certified instructor and trained volunteers.

If you are an out of town visitor…

Visitors to Searchmont Resort can sign up for individual CADS lessons by contacting the Snow School at 1.800.663.2546. In all cases transportation must be arranged by the visitor.
