Welcome to the 2023 Season of Adaptive Skiing at Searchmont Resort!

Our adaptive skiing program begins Sunday January to mid-March weather permitting.

Registration

Participants must register in December to book lessons.  If you are a returning skier, you will receive notice by email about two weeks before registration opens.  If you are a new skier, please contact us via email at nolimits@cads.ski.

All lessons must be booked and paid in full prior to January to ensure availability.

We will do our best to accommodate your requested lesson dates and times, but due to instructor availability, may need to revise the skier schedule.  You will be notified of any changes.

Fees

4 bookings of 1.5 hour lessons – $120.00*

The above costs are rates for skiers from the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Full day (6 hours) private lesson – call for pricing**

Full day lessons are pending instructor availability.  Please contact us for more information via email at nolimits@cads.ski

Please make cheques for lessons out to No Limits Adaptive Ski Association.  Fees include adaptive equipment, certified instructor, a trained volunteer (if required) and a lift pass.

*In addition to the above fees the CADS insurance payment must also be made at the same time. This fee is $40 for participants who take multiple lessons, or $10.00 for students taking only one lesson per season.  Fees are paid directly on the Snowline Portal, and must be paid in advance of lesson date.

**If you are visiting from out of town, you may only choose the full day rate.  Subject to Instructor availability and must be booked two weeks in advance.

Lesson Times

Our season for 2023 begins in January, and runs until mid-March.

Sunday lesson times are 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm for those taking a package of 4 lessons.

Lesson times for all-day lessons and single lessons will be based on instructor availability and participant’s preference.

Lessons are 1 hour long, but bookings are 1.5 hours long to accommodate for set up of equipment

  • Lesson times are 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:30 PM
  • All bookings are subject to change due to availability of instructors and volunteers
  • If we need to cancel your booking due to availability of instructors you will be notified at least one day prior to your lesson; We will do our best to re-book your lesson.
  • We will not be responsible for re-booking lessons that are canceled by the participant.
  • Bookings may be changed once you have arrived on site  if hill conditions warrant
  • For safety reasons, we must adhere to weight restrictions as set by equipment manufacturer
  • Please note: Your final time slot may be adjusted by the coordinator who will contact skiers to confirm changes.

Accessible Bus Service and On-Site Attendant

Our program provides accessible bus and on-site attendant will continued this year for our Sunday ski dates.  Registration forms include space to indicate if you require the accessible bus.

On the day of your lesson…

The accessible parking and entrance is at the far rear of the building; look for the snow school rear entrance.

Please arrive at Searchmont at least 30 minutes before your first scheduled lesson in order for our instructors to assess your skiing style with you.  Check in at main part of the lodge with a No Limits volunteer.  Look for the red No Limits jackets in the main lodge.

From here, an instructor will meet you to discuss your lesson, and answer any questions you may have.  If you have any concerns or wish to share any information that may impact your lesson, please discuss it with your instructor prior to heading outside.  You can rest assured that our instructors will keep your personal and medical information confidential.

If your school is coming to Searchmont…

Is your school is planning a ski trip this winter to Searchmont?  If so, we will do our best to accommodate a student with a disability.  Ask about the adaptive skiing program at Searchmont Resort.

Please note: Each school is responsible for providing transportation and personal support for students. We will accommodate student’s needs on the hill, but the school is responsible for supervision while in the lodge.  We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but we require two weeks advance notice in order to accommodate the request for a certified instructor and trained volunteers.

Visitors to Searchmont Resort can sign up for individual adaptive ski lessons by contacting us via email at nolimits@cads.ski. In all cases transportation must be arranged by the visitor.
